This morning Sykesville Fire Department units along with units from the Glenwood Station from Howard County responded to two houses struck by lightning. Crews arrived on the scene in the 7500 Block of Old Washington Road and confirmed that two houses had been struck by lightning. Crews check both houses for any signs of fire and found no extension of fire.

Paramedic 135 evaluated one patient who was standing in the area of the lightning strikes.

Both houses received minor damages from the lightning strike. BGE was called to the scene to assisted with the power outages in the area due to the lightning storm.
