Sykesville Units Assist on House Fire

On December 9th, at 20:43 Rescue Squad 12 was alerted for a house fire in Baltimore County,Box 46-11 at 10914 Marriottsville Rd.

Engine 124 and Tower 12 were alerted shortly after the initial dispatch and responded to the scene.

Rescue Squad 12 Responded with four personnel. While responding to the call, Baltimore County Dispatch advised units that there was now multiple calls, stating the house was on fire and there were possibly 3 people trapped.

IVT 465 arrived on scene to find a 2 story house with fire showing from the bravo, Charlie corner. Engine and Truck 18 arrived on scene minutes after. Rescue Squad 12 arrived an was the third unit on the scene assuming second due special responsibility. Crew was advised by command that they were to search the house, Rescue Squad's crew split into two teams and swiftly went to work.

Team one went in the alpha side to reach the stairs to the second floor to do a search of the second floor of the residence, due to the fire conditions, stairs could not be accessed. Team two entered side alpha and did a first floor search and assisted with overhaul. The first floor search was negative for any occupants. Team one utilized a ladder on the alpha side to gain entry through the second floor window and vent enter search. Second floor search was a negative for any occupants. Crews found fire conditions in the bed room and multiple holes in the floor in the hallway.

Both teams regrouped at the alpha side of the house after the entire house was searched. Command was notified of primary searches, negative for any occupants on both floors an there was hole on the second floor hallway and fire in the bed room. Rescue Squad 12 was also utilized for multiple task outside of the house on the fire ground after completing our search and assisted with overhaul. Fire was extinguished. Rescue Squad 12 stayed on scene to assist with further overhaul after FIB completed there investigation. Rescue Squad 12 cleared Baltimore County at 00:24.
