On Christmas Eve at approximately 4:30 pm, Sykesville Fire and Rescue units responded to the 7400 Block of Old Washington Road for a report of a van that had flipped over and was into a tree with a subject trapped.

Units arrived on the scene and confirmed one van on its side against a tree. Units further advised that one subject was in the van unable to get out. The crew from Rescue Squad 12 went to work stabilizing the van and removing the windshield to gain access to the occupant. The occupant was removed and transferred to the medic unit.
