Yesterday just after 2:00 PM, Sykesville Fire and EMS Units along with surrounding mutual aid units responded to the 5500 Block of Strawbridge Terrace in Eldersburg for a reported house on fire with burned subjects.

First arriving Engine 123 reported a single story rancher style home with fire showing from the front and back of the house. Crews also reported they had two burned patients in the driveway of the home.

The crew from Engine 123 advanced attack lines to the house and began extinguishing the fire.

Medic crews from Sykesville and Winfield arrived and provided medical treatment to the two burned patients. It was also determined that a helicopter would be needed to to transported the patients to a burn center in Baltimore.

The crew from Engine 123 was able to get a good knock on the fire and as additional crews arrived they assisted with opening up walls and ceilings to be able to extinguish all remaining fire. Crews remained on the scene for several hours assisting the State Fire Marshal before returning to service.
