On Thursday March 23, 2017, at :10:39 AM, Sykesville Fire and EMS Units responded to the 1000 Block of Huntfield Road in Westminster for a reported house on fire.

First arriving Duty 14 from Winfield Fire Department went on scene with a 2-story single family home with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor and attic area. Duty 14 quickly requested a tanker task force and a 2nd Alarm.

Engine 124 arrived on the scene just after Engine 141 and both crews went to work pulling hand lines and extinguishing the fire. The crews made entry into the house and were able to safely remove a dog and a cat .

Additional crews arrived and assisted with extinguishing hot spots and overhaul.
