Working House Fire in Winfield

On Sunday morning just before 8:00 am, Engine 124, Engine 123, Rescue Squad 12, and Utility 12 responded to the 1400 block of Buckhorn Road for a reported house on fire. As Engine 124 turned on to Liberty Road to head West bound a column of smoke was visible.

Engine 141 from Winfield arrived on the scene to find a split foyer with fire through the roof. The crew from Engine 124 proceeded to the scene and pulled a second attack line and went to the rear of the house. The crew from Engine 141 pulled an attack line and was working on the front of the house extinguishing the fire. The fire on all sides of the house was knock down quickly and as additional crews arrived they assisted with overhaul operations.

Crews remained on the scene for several hours extinguishing hot spots throughout the house.
