On Sunday morning just before 5:00 am, Engine 124 and Rescue Squad 12 were alerted to assist units already responding for a house fire in the 4500 Block of Roop Road in Mt. Airy.

First arriving units reported fire showing from the front of the two story house.

Engine 124 and Rescue Squad arrived and were assigned to operate on the first floor and second floor of the home. Crews opened up walls and ceilings and extinguished hot spots.

Crews operated on the scene for several hours before returning.
