Sykesville fire and EMS crews responded to the 3800 block of Niner Road to assist Gamber firefighters on the working house fire.

Crews were alerted shortly before 6:00 pm. Arriving units found a well-involved balloon-style construction residence. Crews worked to bring the fire under control in about 45 minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
