1st Due House Fire

On Sunday afternoon units fire and EMS Units from Sykesville and surrounding mutual aid departments responded to the 6500 Block of White Rock Road in Sykesville for a reported house on fire.

Responding units were advised by the Communications Center that they were receiving numerous calls and also it was reported that all occupants were out of the house.

Chief 12-1 arrived on the scene and advised that he had two story wood frame residential structure with fire showing from the side and rear of the house. He also advised that all of the occupants were out of the house.

Engine 123 and Tower 12 arrived and quickly went to work advancing hand lines to the rear exterior and to the interior of the house. Crews were able to contain the fire to the garage area of the home that had been converted into a living area.

Additional crews arrived and assisted with overhaul and savage operations.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
