Sykesville fire crews were awakened early Sunday morning, May 28, for a large commercial dumpster on fire on Stone Brook Drive.

Lieutenant Chris Franklin arrived on the scene and reported a large dumpster fully involved in fire. Engine 123 laid a supply line from a nearby hydrant to the scene. The crew quickly knocked down the bulk of the fire, but due to the volume of debris, Ladder 12 was requested to the scene to flood the dumpster with its aerial master stream device. The method provided a quick and efficient way of getting to the deep-seated fire.

No one was injured, and the cause has not been determined.
