| Five people were hurt in a crash on Liberty Road, Thursday evening May 3, 2007. Sykesville's Paramedic 128 was responding to a medical call on Ridenour Way around 10:20 pm, when they came upon a vehicle collision which had just occurred on Liberty Road in front of Wal Mart. The medic crew immediately requested the rescue assignment with two additional ambulances, and asked for another medic unit to respond to the medical call. The crew then went to work assessing the scene and patients. In the first vehicle, the single occupant was a woman who had suffered a broken leg. In the second vehicle, there were two women and two children. The driver was confined in the vehicle, and required firefighters to use the "Jaws of Life" system to "pop" the door. All of the patients were safely extricated and transferred to waiting ambulances. They were all taken to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore with non-life threatening injuries. Our thanks to Baltimore County Paramedic 18, which handled the original medical emergency on Ridenour Way. |
