Station 12 Units Operate at 2nd Alarm House Fire

On Wednesday January 23, 2008, Engine 124 and Ladder 12 were alerted for a house fire in Winfield in the area of Route 27 and Sams Creek Road. Both units responded quickly with a total of 10 personnel. Chief 14-2 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire with fire through the roof. At this time he request a Rapid Intervention Dispatach and 2nd alarm.

Upon arrival of Engine 124 they were advised by command to lay a 4inch supply line into the scene from Route 27. Ladder 12 arrived and was directed to make access to the front yard and set up for master stream operations.

On the 2nd alarm dispatch Engine 123 and Rescue Squad 12 were alerted to assist. Upon arrival of both units they were set up as RIT and also placed several ground ladders and ventilation of the structure.

While units from Sykesville worked at the the scene of the house fire Engine 134 filled in to cover the Sykesville area.
