Sprinkler Saves Eldersburg Home

Units were alerted for a reported building fire at 11:43 PM. Information from communications advised that there was smoke in the basement and a reported dryer fire. Units arrived to find a townhouse charged with smoke. Once firefighters investigated they found a dryer fire that had been extinguished by a residential sprinkler system. While this would be a average everyday call for Sykesville crews, it is important to get the message out that residential sprinklers do work and saved this home and perhaps the adjacent structures.
