| Sykesville's Ladder 12 was removed from service on Sunday evening, April 10, to prepare for scheduled maintenance. While the unit is out of service, the department is using the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association's reserve engine. The reserve piece is Westminster's former Engine 31, and will be identified as Reserve Engine 121 for the duration of its stay in Sykesville. The presence of the reserve engine assures residents of the area that there will be no loss of service because of the maintenance on Ladder 12. |
