Water Rescue After Heavy Rains Hit Sykesville |

Monday 7/25/11 at 2:46pm, Howard County Water Rescue Alarm 3-65 alerted Sykesville Freedom Fire to assist Howard County with a car reported in the water at Forsythe Rd and West Friendship Rd in Sykesville at the Howard/Carroll County line. Rescue Squad 12 arrived to find a car in the water with one person trapped. Crews From Sykesville Fire & Rescue made access to the driver in 3 ft of standing water. Rescue personnel assisted the driver out of the car and walked him to dry land. Firefighters were on the scene for 30 minutes. No injuries were reported. |
