The Sykesville and Winfield Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at the Wendy's restaurant in the Carrolltown Center in the 6400 block of Ridge Road in Eldersburg, Maryland at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014.

Engine 124 from the Sykesville Fire Department was the first on the scene with smoke showing in the rear of the Wendy's restaurant. The Sykesville crews worked quickly to bring the fire under control. They were soon assisted by Tower 12 from Sykesville who raised the tower to check for fire extension to the roof. Engine 142 arrived shortly after to assist the crews with interior operations and water supply. East bound Liberty Road was partially shutdown while Engine 142 supplied water from a nearby hydrant.

The fire was quickly contained and was limited to the rear of the building.
