Overturned Cement Truck

This afternoon at 4:20 PM, Sykesville Fire and Rescue Units responded to Route 97 and Obrecht Road for an overturned cement truck. EMS 12 arrived on the scene and advised that there was one overturned cement truck and one subject had self extricated from the truck and laying on the ground. Paramedic 127 arrived on the scene and assisted EMS 12 with patient care. Rescue Squad 12 and Engine 124 arrived and crews assessed the damaged cement truck and control the fluids that were leaking from the engine compartment.

Crews on the scene requested aviation to transport the subject to a trauma center in Baltimore. Route 97 was shut down fro several hours to land the helicopter and for towing crews to upright the cement truck.
