Sykesville Mourns Passing of Past Chief

Patrick A. Renehan, 78 of Sykesville, MD, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Carroll Dove House Hospice Center in Westminster, MD. Born April 19, 1936 in Baltimore he was the son of the late Elizabeth and Sidney H. Renehan. He was preceded in death by his sister Loretta, and brothers Joseph Hugh, Sidney H. Jr. and Dennis Renehan. He is survived by his wife Alice Renehan, son and daughter in-laws Dwayne (Dewey) and Lucy Renehan of Woodbine, MD; and Philip and Kelli Renehan of Finksburg, MD; step son and daughter in-laws Jimmy Dale and Carmelita Winn of Navarre, FL; David Scott and Tammy Winn of Westminster, MD and step daughter and son in-law Michele and Eddie Joyce of Woodbine, MD; six grandchildren, Kelsie Renehan, Christopher Winn, Jordan, Brayden and Taylor Joyce and Kimberly Winn; two brothers Mike and Timothy Renehan; two sisters Eleanor Wood and Francis French. He managed the family business, A.H. Renehan & Son, a producer of apple related products in Sykesville. He was a member of the Maryland Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve (active). He retired in 1996 with 42 years of service at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5. He was a life member of the Sykesville-Freedom District fire department where he served as Fire Chief and President of the company. Memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sykesville-Freedom District fire department or the Dove House Hospice Center.
