1st Due House Fire

This morning at 8:26 AM, Sykesville Fire and Rescue Units and surrounding Mutual Aid Units where alerted for a house fire with possible entrapment at 5920 Snowdens Run Road in Eldersburg. Engine 123 with a crew of four responded and where advised by dispatch that all occupants had exited the house.

Engine 123 arrived on scene to find a wood frame spilt foyer residential structure with smoke showing from three side of the house. A supply line was laid back the driveway from a fire hydrant and crews went to work pulling and advancing an attack line to the interior of the house. The Officer in Charge off of Engine 123 spoke with the residents and was advised again that all occupants had made it safely out of the house. Engine 123's crews advanced the attack line to the first floor of the house and found fire in the hallway and two bedrooms. The crew quickly knock down the fire and kept it from spreading to the rest of the house.

Other crews arrived from Gamber, Winfield, and Randallstown and quickly went to work advancing a second attack line. throwing ground ladders, and starting ventilation. Crews on the interior of the house checked the attic area out and found that the fire did not spread to the attic.

Crews remained on the scene for several hours assisting the fire marshal and completing overhaul operations.
