RV Fire

On Monday March 30, 2015, just after the Monday Night Duty Crew started, Box 12-4 was sounded for a trailer fire at the Rambling Pines Campground located at 801 Hoods Mill Road. Units from Sykesville Fire Department along with Mutual Aid units from Howard County responded to the location. Engine 124 arrived on the scene and reported smoke coming from an RV. Captain 12-1 (Ludwig) arrived and assumed the Rambling Pines Campground Command.

The crew from Engine 124 pulled an 1 3/4 attack line and made entry into the RV through a side door. The crew encountered smoke conditions through out and were able to the locate the fire in the center portion of the RV. Tower 12 arrived and assisted with ventilation and open up the interior of the RV. The fire was quickly knock down and a fan was set up to remove the smoke from the interior of the RV.

The call was quickly downgraded and held to Engine 124, Tower 12, Squad 12, Howard Tanker 13 and Tanker3.

Command request the State Fire Marshal and the Red Cross to assist the owners.

Crews operated on the scene for several hours before returning to quarters.
