Sykesville, Maryland – Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department, Inc. would like to announce the approval of a grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The Sykesville Fire Department will be receiving approximately $40,000 for the purchase of three (3) PhysioControl Chest Compression Systems known as Lucas 2®.

The grant will purchase a Lucas 2® for each of Sykesville Fire Department’s three ambulances. This system will allow to free paramedic’s hand to perform other lifesaving procedures while the Lucas 2 continues to provide mechanic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Chest Compression. There has been increase survivability with the use of the PhysioControl Lucas 2® System according to clinical studies.

The Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department will place in service these important lifesaving machines as soon as they are received from PhysioControl.
