The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Watch for Carroll County, beginning Friday afternoon, January 22 through Saturday evening, January 23.

The NWS says that the potential exists for a foot or more of snow across the watch area, which also includes Baltimore and Frederick counties.

Heavy snow and strong winds will make traveling across the area treacherous, if not impossible, at times during the period. Visibility will be near zero at times.
