Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the closure of a section of Interstate 70 and the full length of Interstate 270 in Maryland overnight.

Interstate 70 will be closed from I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) to I-81 in Hagerstown until 7:00 AM Sunday. The entire length of Interstate 270 in Montgomery and Frederick counties will be closed during the same time period.

The closure will allow road crews to tackle the immense job of snow removal from the highways. Emergency personnel ONLY will be allowed to travel the closed interstates.

The closure is effective immediately.
