Two people are being treated for serious injuries following a crash Friday morning, February 5, on Liberty Road in Eldersburg.

The head-on crash, just east of Fallon Drive and near the Liberty Reservoir, was reported around 10:00 this morning. Upon arrival, crews found an SUV and car, both with severe front end damage. The drivers of both vehicles were found to have serious injuries.

Initially, EMS crews requested the Maryland State Police Aviation Unit for both patients, but because of snow showers in the area, visibility was limited and the helicopters were grounded.

Both patients, a man and woman, were transported separately by Sykesville ambulances to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
