The new auditorium at the Carroll County Public Safety Training Center has been formally dedicated in memory of longtime fire service instructor and member of the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department, former chief Bill Luebberman.

Members of the Sykesville Fire Department were joined by representatives of fire departments from Carroll County and the surrounding region, along with many of Bill's fellow Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute instructors at the dedication ceremony in Westminster.

In addition to "Mr. Bill's" name adorning the wall over the entrance to the auditorium, a portrait was unveiled of Luebberman, painted by his sister, Shelley Steinle.

Bill devoted many years of service in training firefighters and fire service instructors in Carroll County and across the state of Maryland. Today's dedication is an honor truly deserved.
