High winds caused a tree to fall on top of a house on Manor Road on Monday afternoon (3/28), causing extensive damage to the home.

Sykesville fire units were dispatched shortly before 6:00 PM to the home in the 500 block of Manor Road in Sykesville. When crews arrived, they discovered a large oak tree had fallen onto and into the house. While one person was home at the time, they were not injured.

The crew of Rescue Squad 12 and Captain Dave Polikoff secured the home's utilities before returning in service.
