Early this evening Sykesville Units responded to the 2100 Block of Arrington Road in Marriottsville for a reported woods fire. First arriving units found a large area of brush and woods on fire behind several houses.

Crews went to work containing the fire to keep it from spreading any further.

ATV 12 arrived and was able to get close enough to the stream that ran through the woods to draft and supply the units on location with water.

The fire was brought under control and units remained on scene for about an hour extinguishing hot spots.
