On Thursday March 8, 2018 at 12:15 AM, Sykesville units responded to the 7400 Block of Spout Hill Road in Sykesville along with mutual aid units for a reported house on fire with people trapped. First arriving units from Sykesville reported a two story single family residential structure with smoke and fire showing from the second floor and attic area. It was also confirmed that all occupants were out of the house and accounted for. One occupant was found to be suffering from burns and was treated and transported to a Burn Center in Baltimore.

The crew from Engine 123 advanced an attack line to the second floor of the home and started to extinguish the fire as mutual units arrived and assisted with opening of the ceiling area to gain access to the attic. Crews work from the interior as well as from the roof area to control the spread of the fire.

Crews remained on the scene for several hours assisting the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
