In Memoriam: Past Auxiliary President & Life Member Frances Rosier

Mildred Frances Rosier, age, 93 of Sykesville, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Bridginglife's Hospice at Northwest. Frances was a 75 year life member of the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department, and was past president of the department's auxiliary.

Frances was born August 6, 1928, in Waynesville, NC. She was the daughter of William Ray McElroy and Aletha Morrow McElroy. Frances was the wife of the late Clarence Benjamin "George" Rosier.

Frances retired as a nurse at Springfield Hospital where she had worked for 42 years. She was a long time member of Gaither United Methodist Church, Sykesville and a life member of Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department Auxiliary. She loved to travel with her sister Frankie. They enjoyed many bus trips together. She loved visiting with her grandchildren, reading and search-a-word puzzles.

She is survived by daughters Linda Shell and Rita Lamb and sons William Rosier and Michael Rosier. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Frances was predeceased by great-grandchildren Skylar Wilson and Cierra Heater and all of her siblings, Ray McElroy, William "Kline" McElroy, James "J.C." McElroy, Frankie Wilcox, Edna Jean Walker, Faye Brandenburg and Buna Rippeon.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, March 25, 2022. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department Auxiliary.
