A couple of years ago the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department started the process to replace the current Rescue Squad 12 which has served the community for around 20 years. A committee of our members was formed to design a new rescue squad that will serve the Sykesville and the surrounding areas for many years to come.

After many hours of meetings and design the department ordered a brand new KME walk-in heavy rescue squad. The squad is custom designed by our members to best meet the needs of the community. Construction has started with a tentative delivery date in August.

Would you like to respond on the new Rescue Squad 12? We are always a seeking new members to fill our ranks. Members can serve in a fire, EMS or Administrative role.
