Just before 8:30 a.m. on May 17, the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department and surrounding companies were alerted for a house fire in the 6200 Block of Pinyon Pine Court. Engine 123 and Tower 12 responded shortly after dispatch.

Engine 123 arrived on scene and found smoke and fire showing. Engine 123 stretched a line and was able to quickly extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes. Units operated for approximately 90 minutes before returning to service. There were no injuries to the home's occupants or firefighters.
