Sykesville fire and EMS units assisted Gamber & Community Volunteer Fire Company crews at a house fire in the 3900 block of Gamber Road, Thursday evening, January 14.

Gamber crews arrived to find fire in the front of the house and on the porch. Their crews quickly knocked down the fire and extinguished it a short time later.

The crew from Sykesville's Tower 12 was asked to search the home and control the utilities. The house was also laddered.

Sykesville's Engine 124 arrived on the scene, but was diverted to stand by for a short time at Gamber's firehouse. Paramedic 129 also responded, along with Rescue Squad 12, but both units were placed in service.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. There were no injuries.
