Head on collision on route 32 with one trapped

Just after 7pm on Wednesday, July 21, Carroll EOC alerted Sykesville units for a Vehicle collision with entrapment on southbound Route 32 and Springfield Ave. P-129 arrived to route 32 southbound, one half mile past springfield ave, to find a 2 car "Head-on" collision with one trapped. Rescue Squad 12(Schombert), Engine 124(Newton) both arrived shortly after and began extrication of the patient. Lt 12-1(Newton) established the "Sykesville Road Command" and requested MSP aviation for the trapped patient. P-127 arrived and took patient care of the second victim who was transported to Carroll Hospital Center. After 10 minutes the trapped victim was then extricated from the car and patient care was then transfered over to P-129 who transported to the Landing zone, set up by Brush 125. MSP Trooper 3 transported the victim to Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
