Just after 3:30 a.m. on 5/20 the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department was alerted to respond to Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department’s (Station 14) area for a possible fire at South Carroll High School. Engine 124, Tower 12, Rescue Squad 12, Chief 12, Duty 12 and Medic 127 responded.

Units from Station 14 arrived to find fire showing from a classroom window. Crews made entry and were able to knock the fire down in around 15 minutes. Crews continued operating to check for extension for approximately 2 hours. No injuries were reported and the scene was turned over to the State Fire Marshal.
