The newest member of the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department's fleet was placed in service Friday evening, March 2.

Engine 124 is a 1500 gallon engine built by E-One of Ocala, Florida. It joins Ladder 12 and Engine 123 as fire suppression pieces (Engine 123 will be placed in reserve).

The new engine ran its first call on Saturday, March 3...a reported brush fire call on Hoods Mill Road that turned out to be unfounded.

The members of the SFDFD are proud of their newest engine, and look forward to showing it off to the community in the days and weeks ahead.
