Early Morning Fire Destroys Eldersburg Shed

A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a backyard shed on Lawrence Drive in Eldersburg, Monday July 2.

The homeowner, Dan Bicking, told fire officials he awoke at approximately 1:30 am, and heard what sounded like a crackling noise. His wife also reported hearing a popping sound. Bicking looked out his window to discover his 8 x 10 foot shed on fire. He quickly called 911.

Arriving Sykesville firefighters aboard Engine 124 laid a four inch supply line from the hydrant on Johnsville Road down Lawrence Drive to the scene. Crews quickly deployed an 1 3/4" attack line to extinguish the blaze. There were no injuries, but the shed and its contents were completely destroyed.
