| Sykesville fire crews assisted the Lisbon Fire Company in Howard County with a barn fire, early Tuesday July 10.
The alarm was sounded shortly before 1:00 am for the barn on fire on Roxbury Road in Glenelg. Ladder 12 was dispatched on the initial alarm, with Engine 124 requested shortly thereafter.
Lisbon units arrived on the scene to find the approximately 80 x 20' barn fully involved. Because of the advanced state of the fire, it was decided by the incident command to let the barn burn itself out.
Engine 124 remained on the scene for several hours assisting with wetting down the surrounding area of the barn. No one was hurt in the incident, and the cause is under investigation. |
