Firefighter's and Paramedics were alerted to respond to the area of Hoods Mill Rd and Route 97 last night for a reported vehicle crash with rescue. Captain 12-1 (Brian Ludwig) was first on the scene and reported a truck into a car with a female trapped in the car.

Once Rescue Squad 12 arrived, the crew went to work to extricate the female from the car. The driver of the truck was not injured and was taken into police custody for suspected drunk driving.

Crews worked for nearly 45 minutes to extricate the female and had to winch the truck away from the car to gain better access to the injure woman. Once extricated the patient was sent to Shock Trauma via Maryland State Police Helicopter.

Police are investigating the accident.
