On Saturday May 9, 2012, about 20 Sykesville members and Paid Staff participated in the monthly training that consisted of auto extrication. The training covered stabilization of vehicles found in numerous positions that challenges first responders every day.

The training was lead by Bill Luebberman and Assistant Chief Bruce Fleming. Both instructors reviewed all stabilization equipment that is carried on Rescue Squad 12 and Engine 124 and how it is properly operated .

Once the review was completed of all equipment members participated in stabilizing a vehicle. Members then utilizing hand tools to gain access to the interior passenger compartment for patient access.

The next Monthly training will be held at the State Park and will cover Overland Rescue.
