Home Depot Safety Day

On Saturday October 5th, 2013, Engine 123, Rescue Squad 12 and Utility 12 from the Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department participated in the Home Depot safety day in Eldersburg. Sparky the fire dog was there in his mini fire engine to greet all of the visitors. A demonstration of a vehicle rescue was performed where the jaws of life were used. Visitors were given a close up view of what happens in a rescue where a driver or passengers are trapped as a result of a collision. Visitors also had a chance to learn about the new 10 year smoke alarms with sealed batteries.
