SFDFD To Particpate In Safety Expo

The Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department will participate in the Knights of Columbus' second annual Public Safety Expo; Saturday, October 8, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm; at the Eldersburg Wal Mart, Routes 32 and 26.

Firefighters will have fire prevention information and displays for adults and children on hand; as well as apparatus on display, along with the Carroll County Safety Trailer. Auto extrication demonstrations will also be performed by our fire and EMS personnel. Volunteer recruitment information will also be available.

Also participating in the event will be a number of other public safety organizations, including the dive team and K-9 search and rescue team from the Gamber and Community Fire Department.

Maryland's State Fire Prevention Queen, Kristi Gable, will attend the event, along with our Miss Sykesville Fire Prevention Queen, Alina Brand.

The event benefits the Courage Lion Project for Critically Ill Children at Johns Hopkins Children's Center and other critical care hospitals and organizations.

We hope you will join us for this fun and educational event!
