The Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department was privileged to have Santa Claus visit the station at a pair of breakfasts in his honor.

The first breakfast, Sunday, December 3, was open to the public. A host of children and their parents from the community enjoyed a hot breakfast prepared by the firefighters and helpers. Santa arrived on Ladder 12, much to the delight of everyone. He listened to the children's wishes for the holidays, and even posed for pictures! In addition, there were crafts, face painting and other activities to keep the kids busy through the morning! Over 450 breakfasts were served, raising approximately $1,500 for the fire department.

The second breakfast, Sunday, December 11, was a private affair for the members of the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department and their families. Once again, Santa and Mrs. Claus paid a visit, thrilling the children in attendance. Every child received a gift, thanks to the hard work of Santa's elves.

The members of the department wish to thank the public for their support in 2005, and wish everyone a very Happy Holidays!
